Monday, December 21, 2009, another 40 foot container of medical supplies and equipment destined for ECUADOR shipped from the MedShare Southeastern Distribution Center in Decatur, Georgia.  The items on this container will be distributed among two hospitals in the remote northeastern region of SHUSHUFINDI, which is in the Amazon Rain Forest. According to Mr. Alcides Ramón, Coordinator of the “PATRONATO SHUSHUFINDI” community organization, very few resources and healthcare providers reach the remote destination, so the MedShare supplies and equipment will have a great impact.  Included in the container were such items as: Personal Energy Transportation carts, exam tables, hospital beds, crutches, gloves, walkers, stethoscopes, surgical packs, a whirlpool bath for treating burn victims, and much more!

Special thanks goes out to Mr. Marco Galarza Yanez for helping to facilitate this shipment with the good people of Shushufindi, Ecuador.
