GA Governor Deal’s Day of Service

On January 8th, 2011, Georgia’s Governor-Elect Nathan Deal hosted a Day of Service, an event which aimed to bring volunteers together throughout the state of Georgia to give back to their communities. MedShare was among the 35 local charities, shelters, missions, food banks, and environmental agencies chosen to host volunteers.

There was a great turn-out for both the morning and afternoon sessions of the Day of Service. Among the volunteers were individuals from our the community and a Bank of America corporate group.

We also had great support from our local press, with WABE (Atlanta’s NPR Station) and Georgia Health News showing up to interview volunteers. You can listen to WABE’s story here, and read the Georgia Health News’ article here.

Below are photos from the sorting session:

Thanks to all the volunteers who came out in support of MedShare and Governor Deal’s Day of Service!
