On June 29, 2011, we shipped a container of medical supplies and equipment for emergency relief to Tripoli Central Hospital in Libya. This was the first of six projects generously sponsored by the HOPE International Relief and Development Agency, a non-profit that has set up a special Libyan Relief Fund with the objective of providing emergency aid to Libyan people facing violence and medical and food supply shortages.
The container arrived yesterday, and they kindly sent photos of its arrival and unloading that we wanted to share with you. See below:

Thanks to all those who helped make this shipment possible. We are hopeful these supplies will indeed benefit those suffering in Libya.
The hospital is one of the largest government run public health institutions in the country, with about 170,000 patients seen annually, a large percentage being indigent populations unable to pay for services. Among the 1,000 supplies on the container were:
laryngeal mask airways
an electrosurgical unit
We are happy to report that the container arrived safely and was unloaded. Check out these photos they sent us:
Dole Ocean Cargo Express generously donated the shipping of this container to the Ecuadorian port, including the tractor-trailer container. Below is a photo of the container before it left our warehouse in San Leandro, CA.

We’re happy to report that the container arrived in Ecuador the week of May 9. The hospital recipient sent photos of the container being unloaded, and we wanted to share these as they illustrate the full circle of MedShare’s work. See below…
